SAIC is the premier Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) integrator with expertise in transforming legacy command and control systems into a modern hybrid cloud environment to accelerate decision making and increase mission success. This new program is part of a broader effort to provide a tactical operational picture aligned with the JADC2 and Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) to adapt to new and emerging threats.
SAIC is seeking an experienced Network Engineer in support of our United States Air Force customer. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of complex systems by ensuring that all project requirements are thoroughly understood, documented, and effectively communicated throughout the project lifecycle. Candidate may design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain networks and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities. Prepares the analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling. May conduct network architecture design, feasibility and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis. May evaluate new technology. Duties may include providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Conducts testing of network systems. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Network and Systems Security Architecture Design
- Design, develop, and maintain networks and networks architecture supporting virtualized environment, data transport, voice, audio communication systems of systems architecture.
- Develop detailed LAN/WAN/Cloud Network Architecture design, feasibility and cost studies as well as internal studies of network performance and traffic analysis.
- Perform analysis of short/long term capacity and bandwidth needs for switching, routing transmission and signaling.
- Develop Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs) and perform trade space analysis
- Duties include performing ISSE responsibilities to support RMF process and accreditation
- Duties include providing specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture; providing information for hardware and software selection; and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Perform testing of network systems.
- Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
- Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
- Perform systems monitoring, security vulnerability assessments and resolutions (experience with ACAS, HBSS, WSUS)
Qualifications
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Master's degree and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.
Target salary range: $165,001 - $175,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.

Qualifications

- ATA Level 2 certified
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of Network Security Components and Protocols for firewalls deployed at Operating System and Enterprise Level;
- Strong understanding of IPv6, GRE, IPSEC, IP QoS, VLANs and Multicast
- Experience with designing for DDIL scenarios
- Experience with Cisco and SD WAN solutions
- Experience with Multi-Level Security;
- Experience with IdAM/ICaM solutions;
- Experience with cell level data base security.
- Knowledge of zero trust architectures
- Knowledge of, and hands on experience implementing IT and Cyber Security best practices
