Description
SAIC opening for a Technical Writer to join our talented, dynamic team. Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, and user documentation. Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality. Work in a time senstive environment with the ability to self manage.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Coordinate content creation across multiple documents continuously with competing deadlines
- Perform quality reviews and peer reviews across technical and non-technical documents
- Evaluate document quality based on accuracy, substance, and quality of written content
- Create narrative content for proposal sections and other assignments from scratch based off of graphics and/or using "SME interviews" to author prose and validate it with technical system engineers, architects, and other SMEs
- Use SAIC style guides and know which documents to apply to which style guide
- Assist /Create/Update Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Documents with standardized approach.
- Create agendas, meeting minutes, and incrementally create, validate, update, and review document content Provide excellent customer service experience ·

- Knowledge of Windows 10 and MS Office Suite 365 including Microsoft Teams
- Provide routine IT customer support in maintaining computing systems, printers, and other peripherals ·
- Ability and interest in acquiring advanced MS Word skills/proficiency level

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree and five years technical writing experience - Computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline or 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and excellent customer service.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Capable to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience providing services to the federal government and/or the Department of Veterans Affairs is preferred
Target salary range: $50,001 - $75,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
