Description
SAIC is seeking a Tool Room / Warehouse Specialist for our customer site in North Charleston, SC .
The Tool Room / Warehouse Specialist is responsible for assisting with the maintenance and storage of the US Government tools, warehouse equipment, and materials.
As directed, the Warehouse Specialist / Tool room attendant performs a variety of warehousing and production-oriented duties that require an understanding of the establishment's storage plan.
Work involves most of the following :
- Verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents
- Noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages
- Routing materials to prescribed storage locations; storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods
- Rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- This worker may operate hand or power forklifts in performing warehousing duties.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience :
- HS Diploma
- Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Possess excellent drawing and parts lists reading skills.
- Ability to read and interpret Customer Materials and Process specifications to establish two and three tier materials.
- Requires excellent time management and prioritizing skills to meet the challenges of unexpected program updates and requirements.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are critical.
- Must be able to work according to seasonal and order demand schedule. Assists in training assigned individuals in all phases of Tactical vehicle operations.
- Responsible for ensuring equipment and supplies are used, maintained, stored, and replaced properly; ensure safe operation at all times.
- Maintains a safe and orderly work environment.
- Responsible for performance of safety drills and keeping the work site within OSHA standards
