What’s the job?
Consistent with CertainTeed Ceilings Vision, Mission, Values and Objectives, as directed, the Maintenance Supervisor will ensure alignment with department objectives, provide leadership and direction for the activities of the assigned employees in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or replacement of plant equipment, buildings, machinery, utilities, etc., in a manner which will assure operating efficiency at minimum cost.
- Assist Maintenance Manager in planning, scheduling and monitoring assigned installation, maintenance and repair activities; requisitioning parts and supplies; applying the labor agreement, and coordinating services with other departments to assure minimum downtime for production and maximum safety of employees.
- Demonstrate an absolute commitment to safety by ensuring effective safety training, effective communication and helping to provide safe working conditions.
- Provide leadership to assigned hourly skilled and semi-skilled craftsmen.
- Assist Maintenance Manager in oversight of external contacts involving equipment such as parts suppliers and construction/maintenance contractors.
- Implement Housekeeping Plans, specifically within the Department. Work together with other Staff members to maintain and improve Safety and Housekeeping in all areas of the Plant.
- Complete periodic safety audits/inspections of the work area and take part/lead safety meetings
- Analyzing and correcting malfunctioning equipment both individually and through appropriate use of the maintenance team resources
- Has latitude to exercise judgment and discretion on assigned installation, maintenance, and/or repair activities as to utilization of manpower, work in progress, etc., within established policies and procedures.
- Works with Production Team to obtain prior approval for deviations from policies and procedures and for changes in work schedules that affect production plans.
- Other duties as assigned and/or needed to support the plant.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

What do you bring?
- Minimum of High School Diploma or GED plus specialized trades training in mechanical, electrical, machine shop, plumbing and/or welding crafts, or the equivalent training and experience. Associates degree in a technical field is preferred.
- Requires three to five years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing facility; prefer one to three years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to effectively and clearly communicate both written and oral
- Basic skill with Microsoft Office products and general computer skills; prefer experience in navigating and using a CMMS system (e.g. SAP)
- Demonstrate the ability to take initiative to get things done
- Previous work experience in Lean Principles or WCM (World Class Manufacturing) is preferred, but not required.
