What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Lead II position at Saint-Gobain?
The Production Lead will complete manual assembly line tasks to strict customer requirements. These tasks may include, but not limited to, working closely with shift supervisor, will support smooth production operations by solving any issues various windshield, backlight and canopy parts at 100% capacity.
- This position will train Assembly Line Operators while maintaining their own work load.
- This position will ensure the assembly line’s goals are met as defined by the Team Supervisor.
- The Production Lead will need to have the ability to coach, counsel and mentor other Assembly Line Operators in accordance with the Saint-Gobain Principles of Conduct and Action.
- The Team Lead will make sure procedures and processes parameters are clear and followed along the shift.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years’ experience In a Manufacturing environment Required
- 2 years’ experience In an Assembly line role with demonstrated leadership ability Required
- Able to perform level I, II and III Assembly Line Operator duties
Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent Successfully perform the duties of all Assembly Operators
- Basic computer and math skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work in above ambient temperatures
- Maintain high attendance standards
- Ability to strictly adhere to written and verbal instructions
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 45lbs on a daily basis as well as standing, walking for long periods of time.
Additional Requirements
- Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations, as required.
- Conduct safety observations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities as required by our plant EHS.
- Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operation of equipment.
- Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles. Complete all paperwork correctly, legibly and honestly.
- Contribute towards continuous improvement processes and projects in the areas of output, quality, cost and delivery.
- Record data and report problems, escalating them by the necessary protocol as they arise.
- Efficient at all Assembly line Operators tasks.
- Perform complex assembly line operations such as set-up or reset of automated equipment.
- In conjunction with Maintenance define and execute autonomous maintenance as necessary.
- Ability to recognize and solve technical issues/problems and delegate tasks as necessary.
- Proficient in using micrometers, height stands, calipers, and indicators Train, delegate and monitor the work of other Assembly line Operators to ensure that standard practices and procedures are being followed.
- Demonstrate all assembly line related tasks with no supervision. Ability and knowledge to escalate to Supervisor as needed.
- Make quality parts that meet customer specifications and deadlines, with minimal scrap, in a fast paced work environment.
- Ability to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Demonstrates strong leadership qualities in accordance with Saint-Gobain Principles of Conduct and Action.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, as a part of a team, and with all levels of employees in multiple departments.
- Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor.
- Track components and glass both physically and in the system Ability to lead the team without supervisor’s presence temporarily and smoothly Will assist on the First Article Liberation for each line/shift
