JOB OBJECTIVE:
Leverage a culture of philanthropy by fostering donor relationships to maximize financial contributions to Saint John’s Communities and the Foundation through cultivation and solicitation. Works with other members of the leadership team to develop Saint John’s vision and goals, operationalizing strategy to promote our culture while complying with all local, State and Federal regulation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have Baccalaureate Degree in Business, Marketing, or Sales from an Accredited College or University.
- Must have 5 years of fundraising experience including 3 years in a leadership role.
- Must demonstrate:
- Experience leading process improvement
- A track record of customer satisfaction
- A desire to coach and mentor team members
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Emotional intelligence
- Articulate, clear and concise verbal and written communication.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Oversee all aspects of fundraising for operations and endowment.
- Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with residents, families, foundations, and other donors. Identify, research, and target individuals with potential and capacity to give and/or increase giving.
- Develop and execute strategies for donor solicitation. Solicit donors for annual giving, major gifts, and legacy gifts; follow up with delinquent donors.
- Write copy for collateral materials, newsletters, and annual reports.
- Draft contractual documents for creation of named Foundation funds and legacy agreements.
- Develop and operationalize policy and procedure, revising as needed.
- Hire, direct, support, coach, counsel and evaluate performance.
- Develop and implement efficient systems.
- Ensure efficient operation of Foundation Board.
- Communicate regularly with Board.
- Prepare Board package and Philanthropy update.
- Attend Board meetings, and report fundraising status.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable rules and regulations of a foundation.
- Supervise Donor Relations Coordinator. Hire, train, coach, counsel and evaluate performance.
- Maintain communication with other departments, attend interdepartmental meetings as needed.
- Direct quality assurance efforts and ensure implementation of process improvements as appropriate.
- Promote culture and vision of Saint John’s.
- Represent Saint John’s with residents, families, business partners, and the public.
