ASST MANAGER

Assistant Store Manager

Purpose:
Ensure the store provides positive earnings and the store operates at standards set by the company. Assist the store manager in training employees, and in directing effective safety, security and sanitation programs. Assist the manager in compliance of all company policies and procedures. In the absence of the Store Manager, direct the store team in a manner that maximizes sales and profits.

Job Responsibilities and Accountability:
Share the responsibility for sales, profits, expense management of the store, and management/advisory responsibilities with the Store Manager
Assist the Store Manager in setting and executing all work priorities and directing the assignment of individual tasks within the store
Assist with customer service as needed
Assist the Store Manager in training and execution of good customer service in the store
Share with the Store Manager a properly maintained store in compliance with SAVE-A-LOT standards
Share with the Store Manager the responsibilities for a clean, neat, well-stocked and friendly store
Assist the Store Manager with the maintenance and visual presentation of merchandise including store layout and displays of all signs and tags.
Share with the Store Manager the responsibility for the implantation and compliance of all company policies and all accounting procedures in compliance with company policies and standards
Other duties as assigned by management

Job Requirements:
Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required
Minimum of two (2) years retail management or related industry experience; previous experience in scheduling and merchandising; budgeting and expense control experience a plus
College degree/some college work completed preferred
Ability to work in a multi-task environment
Basic experience with electronic technology and communications
Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of planning and analytical skills (comprehension of P&L’s, budget, and expenses)
Bilingual, a plus

Physical Requirements:
Requires the ability to reach, bend, balance, lift and transport various objects weighing 20-50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift; at times, product weight may reach 50-80 lbs.
Must have the ability to stand, walk and / or move about for extended periods of time.
Requires the ability to push, pull, grasp, twist and use sawing motions for extended periods of time.
Regularly works in freezers, coolers, refrigerators, inside and outside of the store in all weather conditions and inside delivery trucks.
