The Job
Our office in Orlando, FL, is seeking an Electrical Designer to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment. Our Electrical Designers focus primarily on the design of building related projects, including, apartment buildings, retail/commercial spaces, hospital and educational facilities using Revit and AutoCAD software.
Here are the details of your duties:
- Develop electrical distribution and emergency generator system designs and documentation in AutoCAD/Revit.
- Understanding and design of lighting systems, electrical, and fire alarm systems.
- Perform electrical load calculations and select and size equipment
- Edit electrical system specifications
- Survey existing buildings and identify electrical systems and components
- Review submittals of equipment for compliance with the contract documents
- Observe and report upon electrical construction work in progress
- Interact with project team members and leaders
Your Background
To succeed in this role, you need to meet the following basic requirements:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology program (or similar) is a plus.
- 5-10 years of experience in design of electrical systems for various types of facilities.
- Design experience in commercial, residential and institutional projects.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced multi-discipline team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in the face of shifting projects and deadlines.
- A confident and positive attitude with colleagues and clients.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, along with the ability to work as part of a team
- Hands-on experience with latest versions of AutoCAD and REVIT, MS Office, Outlook, and engineering calculation and performance simulation software.
