The Job
Our office in Roanoke, WV is looking for a Plumbing Designer to join our growing team. Our Plumbing Designers focus primarily on the design of building related projects, including hotels, apartment buildings, retail/commercial spaces, and educational facilities using Revit and AutoCAD software.
Here are the details of your duties in this role:
- Designing plumbing systems for various commercial buildings
- Development of system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings
- Preparation of detailed design documents
- Specification writing/editing
- Code compliance research
- Coordinating work with other disciplines
- Site survey to determine and document existing conditions
- Providing construction administration services
Your Background
To succeed in this role, you need to meet the following basic requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field is preferred
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, MS Office
- LEED certification/experience is a plus. PE/EIT preferred
- Familiarity with codes, standards and design guidelines
- Excellent work ethic and attitude
- Good communication and time management skills
- Interpersonal communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance and prioritize work
