Core Functions:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Access Services department within Salem Health and Salem Health West Valley.
  • Lead Access Services team members with a focus on teamwork, communication, adaptability, and quality service delivery.
  • Routinely audits standard work to help ensure compliance with Access Services standards.
  • Provides timely feedback to staff questions and concerns in regular huddles and meetings. Assist Supervisors and staff with optimizing workflow and trouble-shooting issues.
  • Partner with the Patient Access Director, Systems Director of Revenue Cycle & Access Services Management team on the development of new policies. 

    Background/Expertise:

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Minimum of five (5) years hospital-based experience required.
    • Supervisory or managerial experience required. Minimum of three (3) years preferred.
    • Demonstrated leadership qualities required.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required.
    • Working knowledge of billing & coding rules and regulations required, i.e., CPT, HCPCS,
    • ICD-9, ICD-10, APC, and DRG
    • Working knowledge of reimbursement required.
    • Hospital revenue cycle experience required.
