Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Production Director, Audio/Visual in the Music, Theatre and Dance Department.
Primary Job Duties: Engineer, support and maintain all facilities, equipment and software for the department’s mainstage productions and related events, and oversee the department’s use of the shared campus recording studio. Additionally, the director will serve as a trainer and mentor to undergraduate design and music technology students, guest designers and technicians, as well as professors and staff.
Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3-5 years of experience. At least 4 years of experience with production in a performing arts environment.
The desire to collaborate with and support colleagues, and to train students. Experience with live audio for music performances and theatrical musicals, including competency with RF mics and IEM. Competency with digital mixing consoles, and the willingness to learn new technology. Experience with both live mixing and multitrack recording. The ability to draft a performance sound system, load in, line test, and assist in tuning/balancing. Experience troubleshooting systems and pieces of gear. Competence with com and paging technology. Ability to work an irregular schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays. The ability to facilitate a safe production environment and model professional practices.
Must be detailed oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem-solving, follow-through, time management, and oral & written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, independently, and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
This is a full-time exempt long-term contractual (contingent II) position with a limited benefits package including medical, prescription, dental, paid leave, tuition remission and more. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
