Position Overview:
As an SQF Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in administering and maintaining our Food Safety Programs & Policies. You will be responsible for implementing and continuously improving food safety-focused programs, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), SQF Food Safety and Quality systems, and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). Your role will involve monitoring daily quality, conducting audits, analyzing consumer complaints, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards. You'll be a vital part of our team, challenging processes, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining our commitment to quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with and audit HACCP plans.
- Perform GMP audits and ensure compliance.
- Conduct internal quality audits.
- Coordinate third-party audits.
- Implement, maintain, and improve the SQF (Safety Quality Food) program and GMP.
- Validate and verify SQF procedures.
- Evaluate food safety concerns in the facility and implement programs to eliminate hazards.
- Identify and assess potential food safety hazards and quality defects.
- Train essential plant employees in HACCP and SQF principles.
- Drive continuous improvement and affect change through indirect leadership.
- Write SOPs and work instructions.
- Collaborate with the production team and other quality team members to develop and maintain a robust food safety and quality system.
- Manage and maintain all daily SQF documents and paperwork.
- Conduct an annual review of the plant's SQF Manual and ensure associated sub-elements and registers are updated.
- Maintain certification in HACCP, Internal Audit, and SQF.
- Communicate changes, modifications, or updates to management and personnel.
- Provide concise and effective feedback concerning issues.
- Train other staff as backups for SQF food safety.
- Collaborate closely with Production Shift Coaches and Team Leads on problem-solving and root cause analysis.
- Follow up on sanitation deficiencies, cleanliness swabbing, and documentation correction.
- Batch production documents (scanning, uploading, validating)
- Secure and maintain 3rd party audits of vendors
- Perform quarterly mock recalls and resolve deficiencies
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of Quality experience in a Food Manufacturing Facility.
- Knowledge of GFSI related programs and SQF certification.
- Computer literate, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Qualifications:
- Clear and professional communication skills.
- Ability to coach associates to recognize and react to problems effectively.
- Lead by example.
Bilingual is a plus.
