The Information Technology Manager is responsible for the data center infrastructure in support of the strategic and operational needs of the organization. Responsibilities will include staff management and development for the IT support teams, strategic planning, operational execution as it relates to the Information Technology infrastructure. The successful candidate has the ability to work independently as well as a willingness to follow direction. Has a strong motivation to learn, works well under pressure and is experienced supporting technical and non-technical end users.
Goals/Responsibilities:
1. Manage IT issues and service requests to resolution across the entire IT infrastructure stack, including PCs, servers, virtualization, storage, networks, remote access, and security tools.
2. Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
3. Network management, analysis, and planning, this includes LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Routers, Switches VPN and VOIP.
4. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
5. System and Security Management. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible issues. Manage user accounts, file permissions, group policies and System Management Software.
6. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is and sent off site as necessary.
7. Monitor system performance (monitor/tune configuration, etc).
8. Provide Tier III support for escalated issues.
9. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted users.
10. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
Required Skills:
1. Strong Systems administration knowledge supporting Windows Server in a VMWARE environment.
2. Strong knowledge systems automation technologies such as Windows Shell Scripting (Batch), VBScript, PowerShell, or Perl.
3. Knowledge and hands on experience with security and networking technologies including VPNs, Firewalls, SIEM, Routing, and Wireless networks.
4. Experience supporting and managing Office 365 Hosted Email.
5. Experience working with AIX, Linux or other UNIX variants is a plus.
6. Must be self-motivated, flexible, proactive with issues and responsive to various levels of staff and management.
7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Organized, detail orientated with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
9. Team player that is willing to take on new responsibilities.
10. Ability to carry IT equipment as necessary, including servers, and networking equipment.
