What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter position at Samaritan Health?
Will be on call quarterly 7AM-3 : 30 PM for the weekend. Performs carpentry work on in-house construction projects. Fabricates and / or installs windows, handrails, shelving and door closures.
Performs general wood shop work. Assists in construction, installation and replacement of windows, doors, partitions, furniture and cabinets.
Facility maintenance, plumbing repairs as needed. Sink, toilet installations and maintenance. General electrical repairs, troubleshooting.
Replacement of outlets and covers, sheet rock installation, preparation and painting. Resident room and office turnovers, flooring baseboard and ceiling repairs.
Maintains documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements. Works with other staff and Performs other carpentry / Construction and mechanical repairs and installations as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirement : High school level of knowledge.
Minimum Experience Requirement : Minimum of two years carpentry experience. Completion of courses in basic carpentry. Knowledge and / or experience in general maintenance.
Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program desirable. Ability to operate a variety of wood working equipment, hand and power tools.
General level carpentry skills.. Must have Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum License Requirement : Must possess a valid New York driver's license.
