All evening and night shifts include shift differentials.
The base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. Shift differentials have been included in the range.
Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity and contracts.
Summary
Performs a variety of purchasing activities as directed by supervisor and / or Director, Materials Management. Plans for the ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies used within the clinical and surgical areas.
Reviews surgical / clinical schedule to ensure adequate on-hand quantities of consignment, non-stock, and stocked items are available to meet projected needs.
Follows established standard work, policies, and procedures for inventory management, requisitioning, purchasing, recalls, and tissue management using multiple automated databases.
Monitors, rotates, and removes all outdated and overstocked materials and adjusts automated par levels accordingly. Expedites orders, and when necessary obtains items from alternate sources or looks for alternative and acceptable substitutes.
Provides information to clinical and Supply Chain leaders on backorders, substitute products, and recalls. Assists in establishing and maintaining uniformity and accuracy of patient charges, issues, and credits.
Verifies supply-based patient charges to ensure the capture of chargeable supplies, tissue, and / or implants. Maintains automated inventories and operates within departmental budgets.
Reports cost variances.Conducts cyclic inventories. Updates pricing and contract information in automated databases as required.
Processes all overnight and "stat" orders. Updates past due purchase order report weekly. Works with storeroom daily to resolve receiving problems.
Acts as a liaison between Purchasing and Accounting Departments to resolve invoice transmittal problems and credit hold situations.
Assumes responsibility for the placing of all return orders and COD shipments. Participates in new product trials, evaluations, and value-based initiatives.
Assists with established hospital and departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control, and complies with codes and requirements set forth by accreditation and regulatory agencies.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Requirement :
High school level of knowledge plus up to one year of schooling in a specialty or trade school preferred.
Minimum Experience Requirement :
One year experience in the supply field. Word processing or personal computer knowledge required, including proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
Typing skills useful. Operating room experience preferred. Prior experience with automated inventory management systems desirable.
