Position Summary
The Accounting Operations Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day movement of items flagged for return to our vendors as well as a variety of administrative and clerical duties to support the Accounting Team. This position works closely with our Accounts Payable Team, Operations Team, Buying Team, and Stores to ensure flagged items are communicated, approved, and returned to our vendors promptly and accurately, to receive credit timely.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing a high volume of multi-stage returns
- Provide vendors with return request details promptly, following up for approval
- Communicating with stores to ensure the accurate and prompt return of items
- Following up on discrepancies with other departments to find resolutions
- Confirm shipments are complete by using tracking information
- Assisting the Accounts Payable Team with data entry and reporting
- Providing exemplary service to our vendors via phone or e-mail
- Scanning documents into an electronic database
- Maintaining document retention standards
- Assisting with various department reports/projects
- Set short-term and long-term goals and work with Supervisor to accomplish them
- Contribute to a positive, healthy, friendly, and productive work environment.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Additional education/courses in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred, but not required
- 2-3 years accounting or administrative experience preferred, but not required
