A local southern Illinois construction company looking for a surveyor to join our team!
Job Description:
The Surveyor will work closely with the Survey Manager to determine work assignments, obtain files to utilize in survey instruments, file creation, download file data or construction plans, install files for machine control, proper procedures for conducting work, etc.
Job Responsibilities:
- Layout/staking pavement construction for curbing, sidewalk, roads, ditches, storm drains or other related infrastructure.
- Survey existing terrain and features for mapping.
- Survey measurements of soil or rock grade to evaluate elevations for grading.
- Layout/staking building construction including footings, foundations, walls, anchor bolts, etc.
- Setup Total Station for machine control. Install files into construction equipment for GPS or Total Station machine control.
- Setup base station poles and calibrate bases for future use.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
- Previous experience working with a Robotic Total Station, GPS Rover, and GPS Base.
- Previous work experience in staking and layout, measuring and field data collection, setting control or measuring control points.
- GPS base setup and calibration and other related expertise.
- Familiarity with Trimble Siteworks/SCS900, Trimble Earthworks, and Trimble Fieldlink software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ethics and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
