What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard PART TIME position at SAMUEL FIELD YM-YWHA?
Commonpoint Queens is seeking a mature, responsible and proactive lifeguard. This part time position allows for morning, afternoon, and evening shifts. Applicants must be Lifeguard Red Cross Certified, the certificate must be submitted with a resume. Some characteristics that this position requires are efficient communication with upper management, professional presentation, and strong independent work ethic.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Surveying the facility for safety hazards
- Providing emergency care when necessary
- Testing water chemistry and temperature
- Light housework (wiping surfaces, mopping puddles, etc.)
Candidates MUST be:
- Currently certified in Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED - Remember that CPR courses must be taken yearly in New York
- Attentive - Our lifeguards are above all responsible for maintaining a safe environment, so candidates need to be attentive and informed about their facility at all times.
- Punctual - all of our pools are "total coverage," being on time is crucial!
