What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grade 4/5 Multi-Age Classroom Teacher position at Samuel Morey Elementary?
Samuel Morey Elementary School (Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5), a school of 140 students located in the beautiful Connecticut River Valley near Dartmouth College, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced 4/5 multi-age classroom teacher.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in literacy, math, science and social studies instruction. Candidates with experience with assessments such as Renaissance STAR 360 are highly desired. A strong understanding of the social-emotional needs of children in this developmental stage is a must, with additional training in working with students with disabilities, trauma-informed classroom practices, and diverse student engagement practices highly preferred.
Our teachers use Responsive Classroom methods along with trauma informed practices to teach students about expected behaviors in order to support social and emotional growth in our children. We seek teachers who are invested in forming strong relationships with students and families, knowing that these relationships are integral to a successful learning environment. Samuel Morey is committed to professional learning communities with Westshire Elementary School, sharing professional development, curriculum and assessment design and implementation, and shared leadership in a district-wide Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) model.
