What are the responsibilities and job description for the Finisher III- 2nd Shift position at Samuel, Son & Co., Limited?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
Associates to perform all safety checks at the start of their shift this includes by not limited to all cranes and tools and complete the necessary documentation. Continue to perform safety checks throughout the shift.
- Painting of all manufactured products.
- Apply coatings to assembled products.
- Proper usage and maintenance of respiratory equipment.
- Mixing and thinning of coatings per manufacturing recommendations.
- Safe and proper sealing of storage of unused coatings.
- Cleaning of painting equipment with proper disposal of material(s) used in the cleaning process.
- Replenishing of paint in pressure pots.
- Verification of adequate coverage of coating on finished products.
- Proper completion of applicable paperwork for painting.
- Operation of cranes, hoists, and forklifts as needed. Also successfully complete any training, safety program relating to the operation of the equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and finishing specifications as they relate to finishing products.
- Paint verification form to be completed as necessary.
- Work with the supervisor/foreman and EHS manager to ensure all safety and environmental regulations are followed.
- Knowledge of (M)SDS sheets.
- Ability to work off a bill of lading to complete shipments and have the ability to locate inventory.
- Inventory, environmental control and documentation duties as assigned.
- Job may require handling or moving of hazardous waste.
- Adhere to and abide by all ITAR-specific job standards and training. Protect and properly safeguard ITAR-sensitive information and work product; ensure dissemination or disclosure of and access to “protected data” occurs only with those trained and approved for exposure to ITAR content.
- IMMEDIATELY notify Supervisor/Manager, Human Resources, Legal or the Samuel Ethics Alert Hotline of known or suspected unauthorized disclosure, release of or access to protected ITAR content.
EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE:
- Medically cleared and documented for respirator by nurse and EHS per company policy.
- Paint spray guns and related hardware.
- Pressure pots/Agitator mechanisms.
- Mill thickness gauge.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work will in a fast paced environment to meet team expectations.
- Understanding and support of Company policies and procedures.
- Ability to understand and abide by all safety rules and regulations to perform the job.
- Must have some knowledge with painting and shipping of products.
- Must have a basic understanding of computers.
- Must have reading, writing and simple math skills.
- Must be able to read blue prints.
- Must have either a High School diploma, GED, or at least 1 year working experience in an industrial based environment.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS of WORK:
- This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are 40 hours, Monday through Friday; to be determined by each division. Standard hour requirement is four (4) – ten (10) hour shifts. Overtime hours may be required beyond standard schedule.
- Travel is not required.
