What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Operator position at Samuel, Son & Co., Limited?
- Always abide by all health and safety policies and requirements.
- Ensure the cosmetic quality of all products pulled, shipped, or received are in acceptable condition.
- Stage and check orders on daily schedule (LTL and Truckload).
- Assist with production put away and maintaining the warehouse inventory.
- Package material as needed to meet customers request or companies’ standard.
- Learn D365 to fulfill all job needs and responsibilities.
- Understand and check packaging quantities on vendor items, and internal document forms.
- Receive, distribute vendor supplies and incoming products.
- Ability to read and follow all Work Instructions.
- Receive in returned material (RMA) and follow the Work Instructions procedures.
- Responsible for all paperwork being completed, correct and legible.
- Strong ability to communicate to Supervisor efficiently and effectively
- Communicate to others in a courteous & professional manner.
- Learn and follow all ISO standards and processes.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area, departments office, shipping docks, staging area, warehouse, and connecting areas.
- Other duties as requested.
Education and Certification
- High school diploma or GED
Qualifications
- Ability to lift 100 lbs. with activities that typically require a variety of muscle movements with frequent requirement for speed and coordination.
- Environment with frequent exposure to dust, dirt, inclement weather.
- Required PPE - steel toed boots, safety eyewear, gloves, sleeves, and hardhats.
Work experience in related industry is an asset but even if you do not have this, we still want you to apply. On the job training will be provided.
