Shipping & Receiving Generalist

PRIMARY SHIPPING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Package and load outgoing customer orders per customer or company specifications and to carrier's requirements to ensure the safe arrival of goods to their destination 
• Ensures that the items being shipped match the shipper PO. Serve as a last check in inspecting all outgoing items
• Loads trucks safely and in a manner that will prevent damage to customer's order barring any unforeseen events

PRIMARY RECEIVING RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensures that materials are received accurately and are the correct quantity and quality as required by CAID standards.  Creates record of receipt in M2M and turns in all associated paperwork to the purchasing department
• Reports vendor shipment issues to the associated purchasing agent. Logs the issue for future reference so that repeatable nonperformance issues can be brought to the attention of the vendor and our purchasing agents
• Reports cases of overbought stock or job material so that it can be returned to the vendor if possible or flagged for general use
• Ensures that trucks are unloaded in a timely and safe manner and that incoming material is immediately placed in the correct location to avoid double handling
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
• Maintains the confidentiality of customer and CAID Industries proprietary information

 MINIMUM JOB SKILLS:

• 1-3 years shipping and receiving experience
• Must be capable of operating forklifts with a capacity of up to 36,000 lbs.
• Knowledge of rigging, rigging safety, and current industry standards and regulations
• Loading experience on different trailer types: flatbeds, step decks, double drops, and dry vans
• Knowledge of oversize shipping regulations
• CDL/Forklift certification a plus
  • Manufacturing environment: May be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Must be able to work in extreme heat/cool wearing proper PPE

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Sitting, standing, kneeling, laying, stooping, crawling, reaching, pulling
• Handling and moving objects- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials
• Ability to lift to 50lbs
