What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Analyst position at San Bernardino County?
The Information Services Department is recruiting for a Network Analyst who is able to use their knowledge and experience to analyze, design, modify, and maintain the County's telecommunications networks to insure maximum network uptime and serviceability. This includes an emphasis on maximizing physical site and support system availability to maximize grade of service on a daily basis and the ability to recover a site from an isolated failure or wide spread disaster. The current vacancy will have primary responsibility for microwave, land mobile radio, and associated systems comprising the County's telecommunication networks.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Pre-Employment Process: Prior to appointment, applicants must undergo a background check, which includes fingerprinting and a medical exam.
Availability: Incumbents must be willing to work different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays in support of a 24/7 operation.
Travel: Travel throughout the San Bernardino County may be required. Employees will be required to make provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained throughout employment for the individual providing the transportation.
Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal right to work in the United States at the time of employment.
Education: Thirty (30) semester/forty-five (45) quarter units of completed college level coursework in telecommunications engineering, computer science, electronics, or a closely related field from an accredited college or technical school. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application.
Experience: Three years of experience working in the design, upgrade, troubleshooting, and administration of data transport or microwave and or radio infrastructure environment, which included responsibility for maintenance and upgrades.
Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required education on the basis of one additional year of experience per 15 semester/23 quarter units.
Note: LAN/WAN experience is not considered qualifying.
Experience with DC power conversion systems installation, operation, and lifecycle monitoring and management. Also experience with site facility management and site disaster preparedness and recovery planning is desirable. A combination of experience with Aviat Networks and Motorola Solutions communications equipment is highly desirable. Holding an FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) is also preferred.
