Job Posting for Janitor at San Dimas Retirement Center
We are now hiring a Janitor to join our team! The ideal candidate will maintain and clean our facility.
Janitor Requirements
- Vaccinated against Covid-19 including Booster shots with present proof
- Must clear Live Scan background check in order to be hired
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
Primary Janitor Responsibilities
- Cleans or provides maintenance to rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker area, parking lots, air conditioner vents, facility grounds and other work areas so that health standards are met
- Vacuums, shampoos carpets, strips and waxes floors, buff floors in hallways and all common areas
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers
- Empties wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas
- Maintains tools and maintenance equipment in work order and keeps maintenance room in clean and condition
- Assures plants and grass on the grounds are watered
- Provides support services to other areas of the building as needed
- Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- Assists in the installation of new machines and equipment under direction of supervisor or contractor vendor
- Notifies managers concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems, and reports hazards such as broken, loose or worn flooring, handrails, etc., to Maintenance Supervisor or Administrator
- Any other assignments as directed by the Administrator or Maintenance Supervisor

PAY SCALE:
Depending on a number of factors, including, but not limited to location, regularly scheduled work shift, knowledge, skills, experience, and expertise.
$16 - $17 / hour
