Job Description Summary

The Director of Accreditation and Assessment for San Francisco Bay University provides oversight of assessment activities for the purposes of program development, evaluation, and accreditation. The Director supervises and coordinates accreditation activities, including Academic Program Reviews and preparation/submission of required accreditation reports, works with administration and faculty to propose policies and procedures, and promotes a "culture of assessment." The Director of Accreditation and Assessment ensures program assessment activities are designed, implemented, analyzed, and reported in a manner that is useful for curricular and program improvement. The Director of Accreditation and Assessment analyzes trends and outcomes and provides insights and analysis of San Francisco Bay University programmatic offerings.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

● Oversee data collection, assessment, analysis, and reports.

● Promote the understanding, articulation, and documentation of student learning outcomes for each program and for the School as a whole.

● Aid faculty members with developing measurable student learning outcomes and designing curriculum maps to assess student learning.

● Ensure program assessment activities are designed, implemented, analyzed, and reported in a manner that is useful for curricular and program improvement.

● Serve as lead contact for accreditation activities including Academic Program Reviews and preparation/submission of required reports (primarily WSCUC) and logistics for site visits.

● Advise the Provost and leadership on accreditation initiatives related to WSCUC.

● Analyze trends and outcomes and provide analysis for assessing student learning goals.

● Coordinate with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness on the design, distribution, analysis, and reporting of alumni surveys and exit surveys.

● Serve on committees as assigned to communicate/document assessment plans and guidelines, e.g., Academic Affairs, Faculty Committee, Institutional Effectiveness.

● Interface with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness for select data collection such as retention, completion, etc.

● Research and analyze trends and outcomes for strategic purposes and make recommendations as appropriate.

● Work collaboratively with other offices such as alumni engagement, career counseling to advance SFBU’s mission.

● Commitment to ongoing professional development.

 

Performance Expectations

● Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of assessment of student learning, program evaluation, quantitative and qualitative research methods, and statistical analysis.

● Experience in, and knowledge of the accreditation process.

● Experience with national and regional accreditation preferred.

● Demonstrated leadership working across an array of stakeholders.

● Excellent project management skills.

● Strong managerial/supervisory skills.

● Proven ability to take initiative and problem-solve.

● Desire to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

● Interest in, and willingness to seek innovative solutions with a growth mindset.

● Experience with database-driven, web-based applications, and statistical software.

● Knowledge of Qualtrics, Salesforce, and Tableau, is a plus.

● Strong written and oral communication skills are required.

 

Qualifications:

● Master’s degree required, doctoral degree preferred, in Education, Assessment, Psychology, or a related field.

● Five years of experience in higher education assessment and research design required.

● Familiarity with Regional Accreditation best practices, with knowledge of WSCUC Standards of Accreditation preferred.

 

Salary

The salary range is $133,000 - $144,000
