Manager, Learning Technology - District Office

FUNCTION: The Learning Technology Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, developing, and maintaining sustainable learning technology solutions that build workforce capability. This position oversees the assigned module(s) in an integrated software platform for SJCD employees and actively supports an integrated learning framework, college-wide learning standards, and various instructional design methodologies.
 
MAJOR REPONSIBILITIES:
   
Essential Job Functions                                     
  • Responsible for the Cornerstone learning management system (LMS) support calls and emails to ensure timely and accurate responses.
  • Lead the technology administration, maintenance, support, design, and upgrades for the assigned module(s) and LMS within the college integrated software platform.
  • Run reports from LMS data and analyzes key metrics to determine overall effectiveness of learning activities across the college.
  • Partner with training content owners and OTD Instructional Designer to plan, configure, test, design, implement, and deploy training content in the LMS.
  • Collaborate with Director, Talent Technology and Support to collect and maintain documentation of college-wide employee and leader training needs.
  • Consult with customers and OTD Instructional Designer to design, develop or revise training in various formats (face to face, hybrid, online).
  • Work with Director, OD to support knowledge management (KM) initiative and technology solutions for KM.
  • Collaborate with HRIS on the Cornerstone LMS and installation of system updates to the LMS.
  • Structure, implement, maintain, and assign learning curriculum and learning objects based on targeted competencies, topics, and skills for employees and employee groups.
  • Work with Director, Talent Technology and Support, external vendors and internal clients to stay up to date on LMS functional and content changes to ensure optimal learning system integrations.
  • Explore learning technology resources which promote a culture of learning and digital literacy among employees.
           
Additional Job Functions:              
  • Serve as technology advisor to promote a learning framework and standards within OTD.
  • Deliver training on various software to include the LMS and various other business-related software
  • Maintain professional level competency through professional development.
  • Participate in College committees, as needed.

 

REQUIRED/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •  Demonstrated proficiency in LMS management
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to engage a diverse group of learners
  • Solid understanding of adult learning and instructional design
  • Experience assessing, designing, developing, delivering and evaluating training and development programs for employees
  • Knowledge of learning technology systems (e.g. LMS, Banner, Business Applications, Operating Systems)
  • Able to establish and maintain excellent professional relationships
  • Creative and innovative problem solver
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent planning, organizing, and time management skills
  • Proven drive to achieve excellent results
  • Able to work effectively as member of a team and independently
 
Required Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
 
Required Experience: 
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in the following areas: technology system administration, technical support, technology project management, or instructional design. 
 
Preferred Education: 
  • Master’s degree in related field.
 
Preferred Experience: 
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years’ experience in the following areas: LMS administration, technical support, technology project management, or instructional design.
 
Preferred Licenses/Certifications:
  • CPLP, Strengths Based-Leadership, Competency Development
 
 
Note: This position has opportunity for remote work arrangements with appropriate approvals and in accordance with the policies, procedures, and needs of the College.

Salary Grade: 27

Salary is based on the Board-approved salary schedule for the current fiscal year. See Salary Schedule
