What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advertising Specialist position at San Manuel?
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Coordinate marketing support services to include advertising, public relations, social media and internal departments.
2. Supports the development of press releases, one sheets and media correspondence in relation to Shared Services, Property Marketing
3. Organizes and monitors entertainment acts for all performances on property and recommends adjustments in coordination with Shared Services, Property Marketing and Entertainment.
4. Assist in writing creative copy and creative brief execution for all marketing channels. Assists in oversight of media used to communicate current and upcoming promotional efforts for the guests and team members.
5. Builds relationships and communication processes with all departments to effectively get ahead on advertising. Works closely and effectively with assigned Shared Marketing Services team members, keeping them well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately.
6. Supports the property on social media as directed by management.
7. Serves as the dedicated individual to work with the Food & Beverage department on specials and seasonal menus.
8. Responsible for working with the social media team on developing content calendar and ad placement recommendations.
9. Assist in writing creative copy and briefing creative execution.
10. Maintains a close view on market trends and competitors' product. Responsible for monthly monthly competitor report and identifies potential opportunities in the market.
11. Perform additional job duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising or related field preferred.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in implementing marketing and advertising initiatives required.
- Experience with creative project management systems is preferred.
- Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills; strong client interface and presentation skills preferred.
- Intermediate technical proficiency and knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) is essential.
- Strong knowledge of all Social Media platforms and how to increase engagement/following preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to drive toward results.
- Must have an outstanding ability to think creatively and identify and resolve problems.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and be a strong collaborator and team player.
- Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
- A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
