Essential Duties & Responsibilities
1. Leads research for short-term and long-term strategic business planning, executing a variety of research special studies and ad hoc analyses in support of all Tribal entities.
2. Generates and reports on integrated interpretations and business analysis to multiple stakeholders based on new and existing sources to assist in decision-making and to inspire strategic or operational changes.
3. Leads a team to manage vendor relationships including sourcing and budget management to ensure effective support of department needs. Responsible for creating bi-annual market research plans and budgets.
4. Uses their understanding of the guest experience to identify opportunities for improvements and makes recommendations based on factors or trends that influence player behavior.
5. Observes the market, segments, cultural trends, and competitor movements and strategies through a variation of data sources and application of relevant analysis.
6. Secures a strong and close relationship with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and to optimize value, action, and results of identified insights.
7. Identifies and implements tools and technology to drive data collection, consolidation, and analysis to improve quality, efficiency and to create a greater impact.
8. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and assumes other responsibilities, duties, tasks, and assignments that contribute to the mitigation or response to any public health emergency.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Marketing Research, Computer Science, Economics, Analytics, Management/Business Information Systems, or related field is required.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in gaming/hospitality, marketing strategy, and/or direct marketing with a high degree of business acumen is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience using SAS or SQL, or other similar software. Must possess a strong knowledge of database management and data analytics.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience utilizing Business Intelligence solutions such as Tableau is required.
- Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant, and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.
- Experience leading the design and implementation of surveys and focus groups, as well as prior experience analyzing data from guest survey systems such as Qualtrics.
- Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis with analytics techniques to solve defined business problems.
- Working knowledge of statistical computing languages similar to R for descriptive, predictive and perspective analyses is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Curious, open-minded, and proactive leader with experience managing and mentoring a team.
- Ability to lead, mentor, manage day-to-day work, and help with ongoing development of insights assistant.
- Primary office located in San Bernardino County, potential geographic/schedule flexibility, can be discussed.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
- At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
- A qualified candidate/employee must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the company’s insurance carrier.
