Responsibilities:
SANCORP is seeking a Mission Assurance and Defense Critical Infrastructure Strategist to support the office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Defense Continuity and Mission Assurance (DC&MA). The DASD DC&MA develops plans, policies, and leadership support initiatives to assure the DoD can execute its core functions, even in the face of asymmetric military threats and severe natural hazards to defense installations and infrastructure. DC&MA also strengthens such oversight by helping the Secretary of Defense and other senior leaders integrate a broad range of threat- and component-specific programs, and by building effective partnerships with other Federal Departments and the private sector to build the resilience of external infrastructure essential to defense operations:. The following are examples of responsibilities:
- Advise and assist in providing technical analysis and assistance to support information sharing through the provision of DCA and TCA baseline elements of information, in accordance with classification and information sharing policy and regulations to non-DoD departments and agencies.
- Provide strategic analysis and support for OSD leadership engagements, and to respond to senior-level DoD, NSC, and White House tasks, and assist as required in developing responses to or coordination for interagency counterparts and other non-USG organizations to support DoD missions.
- Research, analyze, and develop products that provide recommendations or conclusions on relevant topics related to MA or defense critical infrastructure protection and resilience.
- Advise and assist DC&MA team members regarding establishing new programs, initiatives, and capabilities that support MA, particularly for outside the wire risk management, to include advising on programmatic and budgetary considerations, timelines, and engagement strategies that should be considered.
- Provide technical advice and support for analytic efforts, to include establishing and providing policy oversight and objectives for the Critical Infrastructure Defense Analytic Center (CIDAC) concerning outside the wire vulnerabilities, leveraging the CIDAC to execute the MA critical asset identification process (CAIP) to identify the non-DoD owned defense critical infrastructure (DCI) that is critical to DoD operations, and leveraging DCA analysis to support DoD asset owners internal risk management and to support and prioritize interagency cooperation on risk management.
- Advise and assist on establishing structures and monitoring efforts to improve DoD’s ability to manage risk to DCI that require actions with the interagency as well as across the DOTMILPF to include the areas of contracting/logistics, training and exercising, Intelligence/Counterintelligence, and more.
