Professional construction bookkeeper

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.

We have been building luxury homes in Park City since 2000. Time commitment would be two days a week at our office in Kimball Junction. Possibility of more time in the future depending on work load. Pay range $30-$40 an hour.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in cost accounting, preferably within the residential construction industry. Familiarity with construction accounting principles, Quickbooks, job costing, actual vs budget project management.

Responsibilities

• Processing accounts payable: working with project managers on billed vs bid amounts and approving invoices.
• Gathering insurance requirements from subcontractors and confirming compliance
• Confirming account status with vendors and keeping accounts current
• Opening and maintaining vendor accounts
• Balance bank statements
• Coding and entering credit card purchases
• Variance Analysis: Monitor actual costs against budgeted amounts.
• Contract Management: Review construction contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements to ensure compliance with financial terms and insurance conditions.
• Compiling and submitting bank draws
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax deadlines, and reoccurring payments.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation, explanations, and analysis related to project costs and financial transactions.
• Gathering financial information for new bank/construction loans

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 per week
