The Sandcastle Resort is looking for a Front Desk Agent (3pm to 11pm) to join our team!
We are currently seeking a Front Desk Agent to serve as our guests’ first point of contact and manage all aspects of their accommodation. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding customer service skills, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for service. Essential Functions Include:
- Efficiently manage the operations of the front desk, ensuring minimal time is required for check in and checkout.
- Warmly and professionally welcome all guests.
- Direct guests to appropriate hotel staff for assistance with questions and special requests regarding food, laundry, concierge services, or housekeeping.
- Treat requests with professionalism, tact, and a courteous manner.
- Ensure the lobby and shared areas are neat and orderly.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel policies including room rates, discounts, special offerings, and community events.
- Maintain knowledge of upcoming events, local area, and hotel offerings.
- Manage online and phone reservations.
- Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data.
- Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay).
- Respond to guest complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Confirm group reservations and arrange personalized services for VIP customers and event attendees, like wedding guests.
- Upsell additional facilities and services, when appropriate.
- Maintain updated records of bookings and payments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Ability to learn new software.
Education and Experience:
- At least one year of experience as a Hotel Front Desk Agent preferred.
- Experience with hotel reservations software (i.e. OPERA and RoomKeyPMS) preferred.
- Experience with travel planning websites (i.e. Booking and TripAdvisor) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of standing at front desk and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Availability:
- Must be able to work a flexible am/pm schedule, including weekends & holidays.
- Availability required is subject to change based on business needs.
