*Maintains accurate, timely flock records on pullet and hens including all related reports, summaries, and journal entries.
*Maintains all egg and chick inventory records for the hatchery, including related reports, summaries, and journal entries.
*Analyzes and presents timely cost and performance data and counsel as necessary concerning assigned areas of responsibility.
*Prepares and keypunches pullet and hen flock transactions including pullet chicks, pullet overhead, spraying, grower pay, transfers to hens, hen obsolescence, and hen sales. *Maintains backup reports and schedules.
*Makes or controls computer calculations of pullet and hen contract payments and bonuses. Includes assigning grower codes, maintaining grower contract files, files of grower assignments, washdowns and supply deductions, entering deductions to grower pay and remitting to appropriate lending agencies and suppliers.
*Verifies and codes pullet and hen flock transactions prepared by others, such as feed and medicine charges.
*Bills purchasers for sale of spent hens.
*Bills other hatcheries for egg transfers.
*Bills other companies for sale of eggs
*Audits and codes for payment pullet chick suppliers invoices.
*Applies standard transfer prices on hatching eggs and pullet overhead charges as instructed by Chief Accountant.
*Receives, audits, and keypunches egg and chick inventory information from hatchery. Includes records of eggs received, culled, transferred and set, and records of chicks hatched, culled and placed.
*Maintains control sheets necessary to balance all pullet, hen and hatchery computer runs and reports.
*Prepares pullet, hen and hatchery cost and performance reports as requested for various company personnel and outside agencies.
*Assists other division accounting personnel and division secretary in the performance of their duties.
*Maintains orderly files of current and past records.
*Performs other specific accounting duties as assigned by Chief Accountant.
*Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirement
Academic: High school education with office or business courses or equivalent experience.
Experience: Previous office experience helpful. Must be able to operate calculator, type, and keypunch. Basic knowledge of Excel or other PC-based spreadsheet applications.
Personal: Demonstrate ability to understand and manage all aspects of record-keeping and inventory accounting.
Ability to communicate and relate to people effectively so as to complete work on schedule and insure harmonious environment.
Ability to organize tasks and work without close supervision, using own judgement.
Salary : $28,000 - $35,500
