Personnel Clerk -Processing
Primary Functions:
- Under the direction and supervision of the Field Employee Relations Manager, performs secretarial and clerical duties as needed.
Major Responsibilities:
- Maintains all active personnel files by filing all personnel transactions in the files.
- Pulls absentee files and attaches absence notice to the personnel file.
- Assists in providing orientation for new employees.
- Verifies employment and wages to state agencies as requested.
- Assists Employees Record Clerk in maintaining the duty roster.
- Performs duties of secondary receptionist and switchboard operator by answering phone and greeting visitors as needed.
- Performs secretarial duties for management personnel as needed.
- Maintains vacation eligibility information and assists hourly employees in signing up for vacation and completing proper forms.
- Performs other duties as required.
Key Working Relationships:
- Reports to Field Employee Relations Manager who provides general supervision and policy guidance concerning the nature and scope of work as well as specific projects.
- Maintains a close working relationship with all Department Heads, Supervisors, Accounting, Nurses, Processing and Personnel Services Department.
- Provide assistance to visitors, salesmen, and outside agencies to create and maintain a good public image.
- Pleasant, courteous telephone personality.
- Identifies with values, philosophy, and mission of Sanderson Farms, Inc.
- Ability to master secretarial skills; i.e. typing, use of office machines and computer knowledge.
- Ability to organize tasks.
Position Requirements:
Academic: High School education or equivalent; some college preferred.
Experience: Two years in the field of secretarial work.
Physical: Able to work in various temperatures. Able to bend, stoop, reach, grasp, twist and kneel. Able to lift 10lbs or more, utilizing proper lifting techniques. Able to sit for long periods of time, including use of a keyboard. Able to meet the criteria of the DOT Motor Vehicle Records.
REQUIRED:
Previous office experience, able to work in fast paced work environment, may be subject to long working hours depending on business needs.
Have strong computer, informational systems, MS Office experience.

- College
- HR experience - Minimum 2 years.
