Sandestin Owners Association is seeking an individual to work as Project Coordinator in the beautiful community of Sandestin.

Job purpose

The Project Coordinator provides overall administrative and technical management of construction projects from bid preparation through final acceptance by the Association.

Duties and responsibilities

The Project Coordinators responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards.
  • Prepare requests for proposals (RFP) for approved projects.
  • Receive bid packages and coordinate reviews with Management.
  • Monitor construction to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Represent the Sandestin Owners Association (SOA) in project meetings and as the liaison between the contractor and the SOA.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the SOA’s interest and ensure invoices are consistent with project specifications.
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions of the projects and assist the contractor as needed regarding questions related to the job site.
  • May coordinate, plan, and direct the activities of an engineering effort as a Project Coordinator.
  • Assists with designs, specifications and cost estimates for construction projects and prepares reports on program plans and specifications.
  • Assists with the preparation of scope of services, schedules and cost estimates.
  • Maintains project files to preserve document records.
  • Researches technical information to provide project data and engineering solutions.

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University; or one or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
  • Language Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, engineering calculations, algebra, trigonometry, and complex math. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgement capabilities. Critical thinking and logic.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software excel and Word Processing software. AutoCAD or Civil 3D preferred.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Requires a valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of Florida water management district and local government regulations.
  • Systems: Basic understanding of ArcGIS systems and a basic knowledge of hydraulic models.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
