Position Summary
Repair, adjust, and install all types of commercial appliances.
Supervision Exercised
Reports to the Facilities Supervisor and/or Hard Maintenance Lead.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinates and/or performs the repair or installation of commercial appliance equipment. (In particular, kitchen equipment, ice machines, walk-in refrigerators, etc.)
Develops and completes a preventative maintenance program.
Reviews maintenance requests, schedules and performs the necessary maintenance or repairs.
Disassembles appliance to examine specific mechanical and electrical parts to diagnose problem.
Replaces worn and defective parts, such as switches, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, circuit boards, or defective wiring.
Connects appliance to power source and uses test instruments to calibrate timers and thermostats and to adjust contact points.
Traces electrical circuits, following diagram, to locate shorts and grounds, using electrical circuit testers.
Cleans, lubricates, and touches up minor scratches on newly installed or repaired appliance.
Records nature of maintenance or repair in log and returns to facilities office for further assignments.
Maintains stock of parts used in on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of various appliances used on the property.
Instructs users regarding operation and care of appliance.
Observes and examines appliance during operation to detect specific malfunction, such as loose parts or leaking fluid.
Complies with Pueblo, Resort & Casino, and Facilities Department standard operating procedures.

Knowledge of appliances, machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the repair of commercial appliances.

Must have excellent electrical and mechanical diagnostic skills.

Ability to use electrical testing tools.
Knowledge of basic electrical application.

Knowledge of general safety rules, procedures and reporting requirements necessary to maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
Required:
High School Diploma or GED certification.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Four (4) years pipefitting and electrical experience repairing and/or installing commercial appliances.
Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License.
Preferred:
Refrigeration mechanics certificate.
Plumbing and Electrical licenses.
Licensing Status
Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background Investigation.
Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
Working Conditions
Duties are performed indoors and outdoors as required. Outdoor duties are subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather. Work apparel including standard work uniform issued by employer, may require employee to wear other apparel at his own expense to compensate for temperature conditions.
Subject to potential hazards such as cleaning solvents and cleaning compounds.
Subject to potential hazards such as heights, motorized equipment, power tools and loud noise. Personal protection equipment will be required depending on task.
Additional potential hazards include exposure to infections, diseases, fumes, odors, dust, mist, and gases.
Duties may involve walking, climbing, crawling, standing for long periods of time, sitting, crouching, kneeling, running, and the ability to assume a prone position.
Work hours and / or work schedules are subject to change on short notice based solely on business needs. At times overtime work is required as approved by management.
Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
Considerable work is physical activity. Requires heavy physical work requiring ability to lift 75 pounds.
