Job Title: Softball Official
Job Summary:
FAR Group is currently seeking qualified Softball officials to perform Sports Officiating
Services for the base sports program at Hanscom AFB, MA.
Basketball Playing Area:
Will include Field 4 and Field 1 Softball Fields, Hanscom Air Force Base, MA.
66 FSS/FSVS 20 Schilling Circle Bldg. 1305, 2rd Floor Hanscom AFB, 01731 .
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Officials shall have a minimum of 3 years' experience officiating softball.
• The lead official shall have a minimum of 3 years' experience officiating softball.
• The lead official shall be present to officiate and serve as a consultant to the locally certified
official during each evening of play.
• Officials shall wear officiating apparel as prescribed by the respective associations. Such
clothing shall be kept neat and clean at all times.
• Officials shall adhere to the Amateur Softball Association's playing rules and local intramural
by-laws as set forth by the Hanscom Fitness and Sports Center.
Responsibilities:
• Be responsible for performing checks on teams and equipment to ensure everything is in
accordance with the rule books.
• Determine the safety of the court itself, including the backboard, and floor.
• Stop gameplay when a technical or personal foul or a violation occurs.
• Help assure the safety of the players, staff, and spectators during a game.
• Check team uniforms and equipment prior to gameplay for any illegal equipment.
• Call violations against overly physical play and even eject players, staff, and even fans from
the Softball court for unruly behavior.
Salary : $37,900 - $48,000
