Job Title: Instructor

Based at: Virtual for 2 courses and in person for the third one (yet to be specified).

                                                                             

Job Summary: Sanford Federal is looking for a successful Instructor to provide three (3) courses:

1- Auditing Corporate Culture Training Course (Virtual Class)

2- Enterprise Risk Management Training Course (Virtual Class)

3- Analyzing and Improving Business Processes Training Course (In Person Class)

 

Requirements: The Candidate must meet the following requirements:

 Must be certified by the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy prior.

 

Duties: The Instructor will undertake the following duties and responsibilities:

Important: all of the auditors and investigators in these training courses have over five years of professional experience, so these should not be considered introductory courses.

  1. Auditing Corporate Culture Training Course (Virtual Class):

The requested training will be provided to approximately 30 internal auditors located primarily in Fort Belvoir, VA; Richmond, VA; New Cumberland, PA; Philadelphia, PA; and Battle Creek, MI.

Although the auditors are in several locations this training will be conducted virtually, with the instructor and class participants all calling into a “virtual classroom” via electronic meeting software.

The Instructor should provide 16 hours of CPE on the subject of Corporate Culture for 30 internal auditors 30 internal auditors detailing:

  • The importance of executive management and the specific leadership qualities, behaviors, and actions that lead to positive corporate culture that links culture and ethics.
  • Current corporate culture trends and the qualities that the best companies to work for share and how a culture and ethics audit help in this behavior.
  • The current auditing literature that provides guidance in culture and ethics.
  • The best ways to define and measure culture and ethics at all levels of the organization but beginning with the tone at the top.
  • The steps required to build a comprehensive and dynamic culture and ethics audit approach including planning and scope steps, the information required to be gathered, conducting fieldwork and assessments, looking for trends, building a continuous monitoring model, and reporting the results.

 

  1. Enterprise Risk Management Training Course (Virtual Class):

The requested training will be provided to approximately 30 internal auditors located primarily in Fort Belvoir, VA; Richmond, VA; New Cumberland, PA; Philadelphia, PA; and Battle Creek, MI.

Although the auditors are in several locations this training will be conducted virtually, with the instructor and class participants all calling into a “virtual classroom” via electronic meeting software.

The Instructor should provide 24 hours of CPE on the subject of Enterprise Risk Management to 30 internal auditors detailing:

  • Key components of ERM and structuring an effective ERM organization and framework.
  • Establishing a top-down risk-based approach to key ERM components.
  • How to integrate ERM and internal control.
  • How to develop and audit the ERM process.
  • Determining the effectiveness of ERM in the organization.

 

  1. Analyzing and Improving Business Processes Training Course (In Person Class):

The requested training will be provided to approximately 45 auditors and investigators during the annual OIG training summit, which is currently scheduled for Hershey, PA (although the location may change).  All of the auditors and investigators in this course have over five years of professional experience, so this should not be considered an introductory course.

The Instructor should provide 16 hours of CPE in Analyzing and Improving Business Process to 45 auditors and investigators detailing:

  • The various purposes and roles of process improvement in audits.
  • The interrelationships, roles, and impacts of objective and risk on processes.
  • How to create visual representations (maps) of processes to facilitate process analysis.
  • How and when to apply the various tools — process mapping, customer mapping, spaghetti mapping, and RACI matrices.
  • Techniques to use in interviews that facilitate information gathering.
  • Documentation to identify potential issues and solutions related to efficiency and effectiveness.

 

The Instructor will provide course materials for each participant, all applicable forms, including attendance sheets, evaluation forms, evaluation summaries, as well as classroom supplies (butcher block paper, markers, etc) for the In Person Class, and training certificates necessary for this course.

For the In Person class:

  • The Instructor will conduct one training course where all participants are in the same classroom and provide the necessary training on this topic.  Other methods of delivery are not unacceptable.
  • The Instructor’s quote shall include all costs for providing the virtual training, to include the instructor fees, any needed materials, and any added administrative costs for the in person training course.  Travel costs will also be applicable for this course.

For Virtual Classes:

  • The Instructor will provide a virtual training platform that is acceptable to and accessible by the SANFORD. While Zoom has been specifically prohibited by security, other platforms are acceptable (e.g. Adobe Connect).
  • The Instructor’s quote shall include all costs for providing the virtual training, to include the instructor fees, any needed materials, and any added administrative costs for the virtual course.
