Job Title: Paramedic
Based at: Buzzards Bay, MA.
Job Summary: Sanford Federal, Inc. is looking for a successful and detail-oriented individual to join our team as ‘Paramedic’. The Paramedic should have all the relevant education and experiences to perform the duties in such an effective and efficient manner, and his/her responsibilities include the duties mentioned in this Job Description. Ultimately, a top-notch Paramedic should have excellent organizational, communication skills, and great computer skills.
Requirements: The Candidate must meet the following requirements:
The provider of Paramedic services shall possess and maintain for the duration of this agreement:
(1) A Diploma from a state approved Paramedic School (Associates Degree);
(2) A current certificate in the state of Massachusetts as a Paramedic;
(3) A current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), or the American College of Emergency Physicians(ACEP).
(4) Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS);
(5) A minimum of two (2) years recent (immediately preceding the submission of this offer) clinical experience in providing Paramedic services;
(6) All contractors must be able to meet requirements (imposed by the state in which they are licensed) of collaborative (to include prescriptive authority) for employment on a federal installation/reservation.
(7) “No adverse information on file” with the National Practitioners Data Bank (NPDB).
(8) Each paramedic must possess and maintain current authorization to practice for the Cape and Islands EMS system.
Copies of:
(1) Proof of successful completion of a state authorized EMT-Basic or Paramedic Program as applicable;
(2) Current professional certificate to practice in the state of Massachusetts as an EMT-Basic or Paramedic;
(3) Evidence of immunity to Hepatitis “A” and “B” and evidence of freedom from chronic communicable disease(s) i.e., HIV, TB and Sexual transmitted diseases (within 30 days of start of work);
(4) Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support;
(5) Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (Paramedic personnel only);
(6) Proof of insurability against malpractice in the amount of one million ($1,000,000.00) dollars per occurrence;
(7) At least three (3) letters of recommendation from recent employers or professional peers addressing professional services as either an EMT-Basic or Paramedic;
(8) A record of professional training/courses attended in the past two years;
(9) Previous work references including name of organization, number of years services rendered, name and address of point of contact with telephone number.
Duties: The Candidate will undertake the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
A. Assess patients’ needs for emergency care, stabilize and provide emergency interventions,
B. Administers oxygen, IV fluids, emergency medications oral, subcutaneous and intra-muscular medication;
C. Prepares, operates, and monitors specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, etc.;
D. Inventory medicine and drug stocks to ensure adequate supplies and controls;
E. Transport patients offsite for care
