Sangoma’s Open Source Division Seeks an Open-Source Evangelist who will play a critical role in driving the adoption and success of Asterisk and FreePBX within the open-source community. This position requires a blend of technical expertise, community engagement, marketing acumen, and feedback management. You will be the primary advocate for our open-source projects, fostering a collaborative and engaged community and promoting the capabilities and benefits of our solutions.

Your Role:
- Possess strong technical knowledge of Asterisk, FreePBX, VoIP, and telecommunication technologies.
- Provide technical assistance to the community, addressing queries, and contributing to discussions.
- Familiarity with other platforms (such as OpenSIPS or Kamailio) is an asset.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Asterisk and FreePBX communities
- Foster a collaborative community through forums, social media, wiki, and other channels.
- Participate in outreach with other industry open-source communities.
- Execute in-person and virtual marketing strategies to promote Asterisk and FreePBX solutions.
- Create engaging content- tutorials, videos, blogs, and social posts that showcase the capabilities and benefits of Asterisk and FreePBX
- Promote complimentary Sangoma products and services for use with Asterisk and FreePBX
- Gather internal and external feedback, to contribute to product improvement.
- Communicate product updates internally and externally in a timely, transparent manner.
- Provide potential leads and opportunities to sales gained through engagement.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in VOIP as an Evangelist or Solutions Architect
- In-depth understanding and experience with Asterisk and FreePBX platforms.
- Solid background in Voice over IP (VoIP) and telecommunication technologies.
- Ability to provide technical support to the community, resolve queries, and actively contribute to technical discussions.
- Knowledge of other related platforms like OpenSIPS or Kamailio is advantageous.
- Experience in engaging and fostering a collaborative community through forums, social media, wikis, and other communication channels.
- Capability to participate in and contribute to outreach efforts with other industry open-source communities.
- Ability to act as the main liaison for Asterisk and FreePBX communities.
- Experience in executing both in-person and virtual marketing strategies to promote open-source solutions.
- Proficiency in creating engaging content, including tutorials, videos, blogs, and social media posts highlighting Asterisk and FreePBX's features and benefits.
- Ability to effectively promote complementary Sangoma products and services with Asterisk and FreePBX.
- Skilled in gathering feedback from internal and external sources to inform product improvements.
- Capable of communicating product updates internally and externally in a clear and timely manner.
- Ability to identify and provide potential leads and opportunities to the sales team through community engagement.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Public Speaking: Confidence and experience in public speaking and presenting to various audiences.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess community needs and feedback.
- Problem-Solving: Effective problem-solving skills to address technical and community issues.

- The compensation awarded to successful candidates will vary based on their work location, relevant skills, and experience, with the potential to make 100,000 to 125,000.
