Job Summary
The primary function of the IT Support Specialist is to identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems encountered by users of servers, desktop systems, network, Internet and other computer technology. They provide technical support to end-users regarding computer hardware and software. This position installs, sets-up and tests computers and other hardware and software. They train users in various software applications and network-related procedures.
Essential Job Functions

- Follow department objectives, standards and procedures.
- Responsible for attending meetings and trainings as required.
- Receives and attends incidents and requests.
- Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves hardware, software, and network-related problems encountered by end-users of the Sanitas network, the Internet, PCs and other technology.
- Acts proactively to prevent issues.
- Trains end-users on the use and features of the operating systems and applications on the various platforms.
- Provides onsite and remote support.
- Will use service manager to log requests; monitors progress, tracks problem resolution, identify patterns of failure, research bug fixes and implements solutions. Communicates with the manager regarding unresolved problems.
- Acts proactively to prevent issues.
Qualifications
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education
- Associate’s degree with at least two years of coursework in computer sciences.
Required Experience
- Current experience providing technical desktop and network support in a large multi-platform and multi-operating systems environment.
- One year of experience and an MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional) certificate OR Comp TIA Certifications.

- Knowledge of networking and AD environment.

Physical Demands
