We are in search of a dynamic and highly skilled Urgent Care Physician to become a valued member of our Sanitas healthcare team. The ideal candidate should be board certified or board eligible, with specialized training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine and possess a minimum of 2 – 3 years of pertinent experience in a Urgent Care setting and/or Emergency medicine trained a plus. In this role, the Urgent Care Physician will play a vital part in delivering immediate medical care to patients dealing with a diverse spectrum of acute illnesses and injuries. As well as lead and collaborate with the team of APPs by teaching and improving our care delivery in the UC setting.

Patient Care:
- Diagnose and treat acute medical conditions, injuries, and minor illnesses in an urgent care setting.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, medical histories, and physical examinations.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, lab work, and EKGs.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans based on patient needs.
Emergency Care:
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the urgent care facility.
- Stabilize and manage patients with critical conditions until transfer to a higher level of care if necessary.
Collaboration:
- This provider will be responsible for leading the Urgent Care team of APPs (NPs/PAs) by teaching/coaching and helping improve our care delivery in the UC setting.
- Work closely with nursing staff, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Consult with specialists or Urgent care Physicians when necessary for comprehensive patient management.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, documenting patient interactions, diagnoses, treatments, and prescriptions in electronic health records (EHR).
Education:
- Educate patients on preventive care, treatment options, and follow-up care instructions.
- Provide guidance on lifestyle modifications and health maintenance.
Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of urgent care services.
- Adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Stay current with medical advancements and industry best practices.
- Effectively communicate with patients, their families, and other healthcare team members.
- Collaborate with administrative staff on scheduling, billing, and other operational matters.
Qualifications
Qualifications:

- Medical degree from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Minimum to 2 - 3 years of experience in Urgent Care and/or Emergency Medicine training a plus.
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Florida.
- Current DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) registration.
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic urgent care environment.
Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment and must be able to exert regularly up to 10 pounds of force, frequently exert 30 pounds of force and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force to constantly perform the essential job functions. The employee will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise; there may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.
