Lab Supervisor
Supervises and coordinates activities of Dry and Chemical lab personnel engaged in performing physical tests required for quality control of processes and Printed Circuit Boards. Directs and advises personnel in special test procedures to analyze components and physical properties of materials.
Nature of Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervises wet lab and dry lab teams which includes prioritizing and assigning work, training employees and conducting performance reviews.
- Accomplishes department and plant level objectives by supervising staff; planning and evaluating department activities.
- Acts independently, and as part of a team, to determine methods, procedures and new assignments. Often acts as a facilitator and team leader.
- Responsible for accurate timekeeping and communicating department and company policies
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting and training employees.
- Assists in the development of personal growth opportunities for staff.
- Participates in and supports the Company’s continuous improvement program and projects
- Monitors and analyzes all wet process chemical baths using Lab Wizard Software. Work with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve chemical process controls and Cpk values.
- Manages lab inventory including receiving and logging of supplies and keeping track of inventory.
- Responsible for lab maintenance including monitoring daily cleanliness, maintaining laboratory equipment performance and organization.
- Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment
- Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure product integrity and quality control
- Implements and monitors processes to ensure compliance with all state and federal regulatory requirements
- Ensure quality control tests are completed on product samples or coupons and only the products that pass the specification requirements are shipped to the customer
- Directs laboratory quality control and quality assurance practices to ensure compliance with the Environmental Management system (ISO 14001 standard)
- Prepares special reports and presentations for senior and operations management as needed
- Ensures a safe, secure, and legal work environment.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in chemical or mechanical engineering
- A minimum of 5 years related lab experience in PCB manufacturing including team lead or supervisory experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory compliance ISO standards, IPC-A-600 and IPC-6012 Specifications, Military Specifications 31032 and Nadcap Criteria
- Excellent skill in organizations and time management, planning, staffing, leading, and motivating employees.
- The ability to generate and document advanced reports. Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications to create spreadsheets, presentations, and Word documents
- Comfortable and capable of working on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues. Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet production goals and ensure product quality
- Ability to communicate effectively to maintain cooperative working relationships with those encountered in the course of conducting business
- Ability to effectively communicate; both verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff and management
- Demonstrated ability to work with management, operators, technical staff, and customers.
- Demonstrated knowledge of micro section prep and evaluation, typical chemical lab equipment & analysis, AA, uvVis, pH meters, CVS.

Salary Range(annual): $71,700-$98,000
