Senior Process Engineer - Registration
Job Description
The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for the implementation of process improvements for PCB registration that result in improved capability and improved yields. The Senior Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the execution of all related activities which will include internal Sanmina actions and actions taken on Sanmina’s behalf by the supplier network. Optimizing performance to achieve best-in-class yields for the technology being built is a critical objective.
Nature of Duties
- Design, execute and analyze registration test vehicles to understand specific process variables and opportunities for yield and capability improvement.
- Identify and develop process limits, process instructions, operator instructions, set-up requirements, procedures, process parameters, and continuous improvement projects.
- Utilize structured problem solving techniques and develop a culture of strong engineering discipline through the use of advanced quality tools such as FMEAs, DOEs, DMAIC and SPC.
- Work effectively with the equipment and material suppliers to identify opportunities to improve yields and capability through new techniques, equipment upgrades and cutting edge technology investments
- Work with Quality and Manufacturing teams to develop a closed loop system for reporting process yields real-time.
- Work to the established priorities and work schedules. Support, augment and work seamlessly with the Process Engineering team and cross functional peers within the plant and sister manufacturing sites.
- Participate in the development of intellectual property.
- Interact with up line managers within Sanmina, and executive management for our supply partners.
Required Experience and Skills
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Physics is required; an MS is preferred
- Candidate must be experienced and fully versed in a process-based industry like semiconductor or printed circuit board manufacturing, substrate fabrication or materials processing.
- Candidate must be experienced with the use of statistical tools and methods for determining process capabilities, troubleshooting problems and implementing process control.
- Strong communication and process engineering skills are required, and must have the ability to work closely with the process engineers.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite. The ability to analyze technical data and create technical presentations is required.
- Ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic work environment.
- 10 years of process engineering experience in high technology manufacturing like semiconductor fabrication or combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in utilizing data to drive process control, predictability and productivity improvements is required.
- Ability and willingness to lead a team, seeks out additional responsibilities

Salary Range(annual): $98,000-$150,000
