Job Purpose:

Manages the planning, development, and implementation of procedures for the testing and evaluation of standard and special devices. Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff.  Specifies tests to be performed, compiles data, and makes recommendations for changes required in testing equipment procedures, manufacturing processes, new testing requirements and/or design of testing equipment. Recommends the purchase of test equipment. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Nature of Work

•Writing detailed mfg test plans, maintenance procedures, test operational work instructions and test procedures

•Identifying and communicating product software and hardware design deficiencies to customers

•Manages project schedule pertaining to test development and software upgrades, working with the customer focus team and the customer counterpart(s)

•Train technicians and operators on new production test stations, support debug of complex RF/Digital designs and perform failure analysis as part of continuous improvement  

•Provide support for software installation and configuration, data collection and modifications

•Support product implementation in manufacturing. Detailed layout planning that includes facility layout of equipment and workstation floor space and requirements for power and data networks.

•Identify and drive test and process improvements to closure for top defects affecting test yields

•Support new business development by interfacing with new customers, defining proposals and quotations  

•Oversee and support pilot runs for NPI and supply feedback to customers 

•Oversee and support all Test Engineering Activities

•Manage Test Engineers and test technicians 

 •Support test infrastructure validations, writing and executing validations protocols  

Education and Experience:

•BSEE with 10 years experience as an Test Engineer, in telecommunications, computer engineering, computer networking, medical device or related field. 

•Experience with ATE Products and Test Interface Units 

•Excellent verbal/written communication skills.

•Ability to work independently and as part of a team

•Experience with the Engineering Change Control process and Deviations Process

•Familiarity with IQ/OQ/PQ methodology

•MS Office experience

•Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485 & AS9100  requirements 

•Experience in a Contract Manufacturing environment desired 

• Ability to work with TEs to debug hard failures that Techs can’t debug 

•Ability to Analyze Failures and drive them to fix the Root Cause 

•Ability to work with QE’s and ME to provide feedback for all manufacturing failures 

•Ability to work with Customers Engineers to provide Test Scrip’s failures and possible designs failures.

Salary Range(annual): $110,000 - $140,000
