The Senior Manager/Associate Director of Operations, Specialty Care Channel Distribution (Oncology), is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Sanofi Genzyme’s specialty channel distribution programs for Oncology/Transplant products. This individual will be the subject matter expert as it relates to Trade channel activity within the Oncology/Transplant therapeutic areas, coordinating with brand and other MSOI colleagues. The Senior Manager/Associate Director will lead the development, execution, and management of Specialty Pharmacy (SP) contracts; collaborate with the Patient Support Services programs; work with the SP Account Directors in effort to support day-to-day account management; and work with IT and Data Management on data implementation and issues related to contracts within the Immunology network. The role will also work collaboratively with US Market Access and One Trade, Account Management teams, Trade Operations, Alliance colleagues, and other key cross-functional internal business partners.
Primary Responsibilities
- Execute on specialty pharmacy (SP) contracting strategy around data and enhanced services
- Lead contract development and execution efforts for new SP data and service agreements
- Create business rationale (BR) and manage fair market value analysis (FMV) vendor to establish foundation for contracted data and services; work with Legal on BR documentation and approval
- Support launch activities for new product and/or label extension as it relates to SP strategy, pre/post launch implementation, and evaluation activities throughout the launch process.
- Create and execute operational plans that seek to increase conversion, adherence, and time to fill, and ultimately provide a seamless patient journey from initial prescription to dispensed product
- Proactively monitor and analyze business performance in collaboration with the Business Analytics teams to assess and evaluate channel effectiveness
- Analyze specialty pharmacy and product data to consistently communicate business metrics in support of strategic objectives
- Create quarterly SP services scorecards for SP invoice evaluation and tactical discussions with account directors and SPs
- Manage SP invoice evaluation and work closely with Data Management and Business Support to ensure compliant management of invoices for SP data and services
- Assist Finance with budget analysis and projections for SP data and services payments
- Develop operational SOPs, including the communication, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of those SOPs related to systems, processes, data, and reporting templates
- Serve as a liaison for technology-related projects to ensure systems or enhancements are designed to meet the operational needs of the function and support testing of new/updated systems
- Create and present distribution reports by channel to the field and internal customers
- Work collaboratively with LiquidHub and Sanofi Data Management team to ensure data received from our distribution partners are accurate and validated
- Support and maintain a high level of communication and collaboration with key partners within the distribution network (e.g. PSS, Customer Support, Supply Chain), including issue management
- Work collaboratively with Trade Operations and Strategic Customer Relations and Business Support to proactively manage supply risks, including development of appropriate risk mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with Trade Operations and Strategic Customer Relations and Business Support on changes to shipping schedules and pricing notifications to customers
- Develop marketing pieces or communications related to Specialty Care channel distribution
- Train internal and external customers as needed on distribution and operations
- Work with SP Account Director team to provide operational insights and support as needed
- Role model and contribute towards strengthening our ethics and compliance culture, and awareness of Sanofi’s code of conduct
- Ad hoc projects and initiatives as required
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- Minimum of five (5) years in the pharmaceutical industry
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects and the ability to work independently
- Specialty Distribution, Market Access, Specialty Pharmacy, and/or leadership experience
- Strong analytical and project management skills with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and QlikSense
- Ability to meet deadlines with quality deliverables; manage project scope, timelines, and budget
- Ability to work effectively with Supply, Sales, Medical, Legal, and Regulatory functions to ensure appropriate review and timely delivery of communication materials
- Collaborate and work effectively as a team member with internal teams and external partners
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- Broad understanding of the US healthcare environment especially within the Market Access functions
- Experience with biopharmaceutical specialty products in various distribution models (limited, preferred, open)
- Understanding of Medicare Part B & D, Medicaid, and 340B programs
- Brand / product marketing knowledge to help provide insights & feedback on tools and tactics during multiple product launches for the specialty channel
- Networking capabilities to learn from and work with different teams, departments, customers and vendors
