What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rare Medical Scientific Advocacy Lead position at Sanofi?

To support the implementation of the cross rare scientific advocacy strategy and plan, consisting of internal and external activities focused on multistakeholder engagement to ensure better appreciation, accurate interpretation, and timely use of rare diseases available evidence by health care stakeholders.  Specifically, to inform both internally and externally, the scientific basis, challenges and solutions of generating and assessing RD evidence, meanwhile  identifying what evidence matters  over time to different stakeholders. Enabling better care for rare across the patient journey from diagnosis to treatment.


Major Activities/Key Responsibilities


The responsibilities of SAL will include facilitating scientific dialogues with Health Care Providers, Key Opinion Leaders, clinical developers, HTAs, academia, professional organizations, and patient groups, systematically assessing and aligning   stakeholders with therapeutic area strategies SAL, will support maintaining relations and engagement with multidisciplinary stakeholders in the rare ecosystem.

Activities He or she will be responsible of support partnering with internal matrix partners in Clinical Development, regulatory Commercial, Public Affairs and other functions as necessary to maximize the value and visibility of rare medical scientific engagement activities. The SAL will also coordinate as needed, life cycle scientific dialogues of our internal functions with key external stakeholders


Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate evidence assessments reports to identify factual insights based on public assessments reports of clinical evidence ( regulators and HTAs) to educate and inform medical evidence generation activities

  • Effectively communicating and perform collaborative work with medical rare scientific communications and medical education and training. Development of impactful material ( post meeting reports with the identification of potential implications for Sanofi from   events learnings)

  • Coordinate the plan of external scientific messages in multistakeholder environments

  • Create and maintain a cross functional, cross rare   internal scientific advocacy community of practice to share best practices and innovative solution in multistakeholder engagement promoting the GLOCAL cooperation in specific projects

  • Identify opportunities for affiliate synergy in stakeholder engagement.

  • Identify and develop infrastructure to instill operational excellence in global / local stakeholder engagement


Ideal Background

  • Education: Advanced degree (Masters or Doctoral) in related field such as, epidemiology, biostatistics, public health

  • Languages: Mastery of written and verbal English

  • Professional Experience: 6 years’ experience with demonstrated high performance in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO, academia or other health related company. Professional training in the health field (MD, PharmD, etc.) is a plus. Equivalent education and experience may be considered

  • Project management skills
