GENERAL SUMMARY
Effectively coordinate the scheduling of production for service orders, including outsourced processes. Assist with the scheduling, production, and shipping of service part requirements.
Schedule outsourcing and workforce to meet customer demands. Monitor internal quality performance through audits of procedures, work, and product.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate the development, production, and quality of prototype and service parts; Participate in and / or supervise the development of parts from blueprint to physical sample;
Review and schedule part builds; Maintain inventory accuracy.
Provide effective supervision and training of all Prototype / Service Department production associates; Responsible for awareness and compliance with all plant / company policies.
Ensure customer specifications are met for prototype and service parts; Oversee production of hourly staff; Coordinate with assigned plant quality technician and / or corporate engineering department.
Maintain effective communication between various functions; function as liaison between corporate and production functions regarding parts production / components / scheduling;
Work with vendors, customers, purchasing, and Sanoh America manufacturing to ensure deadlines are met.
Create and develop workflow for Prototype and Service functions.
Submit Part Configuration Forms to plants for material procurement.
REQUIRED EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Associate degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, good with planning and prioritization.
Working knowledge of MS-Office and Plex
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Working knowledge of blueprint reading; Able to understand customer specifications and expectations.
Working knowledge of basic geometry, with good math skills.
Able to use and understand Coordinate Measurement Machines, CNC benders / numeric coordinates.
Able to effectively read gauges, determine if within tolerance, and actions needed to make equipment adjustments to make necessary corrections.
REQUIRED DECISION-MAKING AND ORGANIZATION IMPACT
This position supervises the development of parts from blueprint to physical sample. If poor decisions are made, results may include excess labor and materials needed, samples provided late to the customer, samples provided that do not meet customer expectations, and potential loss of new business.
This position provides effective supervision and training of all Prototype Department production associates. If this is done poorly, results may include inefficiencies / extra labor required, getting behind schedule, ineffective training of associates.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports directly to the Prototype and Service Manager. Prototype associates and Team Leaders report to this position.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Primarily a manufacturing floor environment, with some office environment. Overtime of varying levels may be required. Occasional travel may be required, usually day trips.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Able to travel throughout manufacturing and materials storage areas. Will sometimes perform production or design work on the manufacturing floor.
Periodically lift up to 40 lbs. Requires some keyboarding and computer usage.
