Role: Sr. Financial Analyst with AWS/Cloud

Qualifications
- BS/BA degree required in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other technical discipline and a minimum 5 years of finance experience, OR master’s degree and 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Passionate about the technology industry, and ability to engage in technical discussions, particularly in private cloud services, business models and economics.
- Deep modelling capabilities and ability to work with financial and business systems.
- Ability to think end to end from strategic planning through multi-year execution; and to model the financial investments and impact accordingly.
- Proven leadership skills, with demonstrated results in proactively driving and delivering high value/high-impact project results through both individual and v-team efforts.
- Strong partnering capabilities, with the ability to influence others without direct authority.
- Executive level oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex analysis in a clear, simple way.
- Thorough and detail oriented, yet able to see the forest for the trees.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity across a continuously evolving, fast-pace business.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and to work under tight deadlines.
- High level of self-motivation and autonomy; ability to quickly identify what needs to be accomplished and resourcefulness to get things done.
- AWS Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)
- Lead planning and analysis for EC2 annual capital and capacity planning
- Participate in continuous planning of EC2 capital spending and server rack acquisition
- Dive deep, understand, and communicate to leadership insights on bi-weekly capital forecast analysis and commentary
- Work in coordination with data scientists from the AWS Forecasting team in solving new planning challenges
- Own and drive improvement projects during planning and forecasting cycles
- Provide controllership during capital purchasing process
- Drive creation of complex financial models and analytical tools to measure overall financial performance
- Own and deliver on ad-hoc business support projects
- Set up budget, Guardrails, and Alerts to ensure detective and preventive measures are taken to stay within budget
- Perform cost benefits analysis; Demand vs Usage vs Cost vs Budget
- Generate reports on the weekly, monthly and YTD spent from the individual and Master accounts
- Use of the appropriate cloud management platforms and tools (i.e. AWS Cloud native tool (Cost Explorer), CloudCheckr) for cost management purposes
- Monitor Demand, Usage, Capacity, Cost, and credits
- Identify under-utilized resources
- Manage credits, charges, billing, and invoices
- RI purchasing, Right-sizing recommendations
- Analyze cost of systems with appropriate provisioning
- Define and publish financial related policies and procedures
- Previous AWS Cloud financial experience is a MUST. 2-4 years of IT Financial management is required.
