Sales Associates provide outstanding customer service to our clientele by answering their questions and by recommending the appropriate items to complete customer's projects. In addition Associates also stock the shelves and maintain their Department and the presentation of merchandise in a neat and orderly fashion at all times. We are a service based business so it is critical that customers are always treated with the utmost respect and courtesy.

- Read and understand written instructions, product labels & information, training materials, bin tags, special orders, delivery paperwork & safety information
- Clearly write-up special/delivery orders and sales tickets (Not for Cashiers & Warehouse employees)
- Be able to correctly use a tape measure
- Basic Math skills (adding, subtraction, multiplying, decimals, fractions)

- Must work the hours/shifts assigned and begin & end work on time

- Bend, twist, squat & reach overhead regularly (Cashiers don’t need to squat or reach overhead)

- Be able to easily identify inventory in order to quickly locate and stock it in its assigned locations (Not for Cashiers & Warehouse)
- Be able to perform basic housekeeping duties that result in regular exposure to dust
- Must be sufficiently adaptable to accept and perform in a timely and effective matter work assignments that are outside the normal day to day routine

- Hardware: Use of the key machine to cut keys, use of soldering cutter for rope, use of chain cutter, walking up/down stairs while carrying product, manipulate small screws and parts, the regular lifting of up to 25 lbs. and at times 60 lbs.
- Plumbing/Electrical: Use of pipe threading/cutting machine, walk up/down stairs while carrying product, contact with oil, manipulate small screws and parts, the regular lifting of up to 25 lbs. and at times 50 lbs.
- Garden: Operate the electric pallet jack, the regular lifting of up to 60 lbs. The lifting & loading of multiple 50 lb. bags of soil products. Work outdoors in hot, cold or rainy conditions. Work in an environment that contains garden chemicals, fertilizers, & plant pollen.
- Lumber: Operate radial arm and panel saws, use of glass & Plexiglas cutter, operate a forklift & electric cart, operate electric pallet jack, the regular lifting of up to 60 lbs. The lifting & loading of multiple 60 lb. bags of concrete, sand, or rock products. Work outdoors in hot, cold or rainy conditions. Have adequate hand strength to cut construction hardware cloth, mesh, chicken wire and other rolled metal goods. Work in an environment where sawdust is present.
- Paint: Operate the paint computer, tinting machine & mixer, the regular lifting of up to 25 lbs. and at times 50 lbs., work with latex & oil-based paints, stains & tints.
- Casual Living: Operate the propane tank (exposure to propane gas), assembly of patio furniture & BBQ’s, the regular lifting of up to 25 lbs. and at times up to 60 lbs.
- Cashiering: Accurately count money, use an adding machine, correctly & efficiently operate the cash register and related equipment, the regular lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Warehouse: Operate the forklift, electric pallet jack, & small handheld receiving computer, the regular lifting of 25 to 60 lbs., & the ability to read and understand delivery & receiving documents.
