Santa Monica Proper Hotel is seeking a motivated, service-driven Director of Beverage. A seamless merger of historic retrofit and new construction, our 271-room property features interior design by international style icon Kelly Wearstler, multiple dining options by local area culinary stars, a rooftop lounge and swimming pool, and 16,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
This key role will be responsible for all aspects of the hotel's beverage program, including developing beverage lists, costing and pricing, training, non-alcoholic beverage programs, inventory, vendor relations and all service and execution standards.

Job Overview
- Manage the development of the property's beverage program, including craft cocktail menu development, wine, and beer selections, and seasonal changes
- Conduct staff education and training across all the outlets of the hotel
- Seek new opportunities and strategies for the improvement of Beverage operations
- Collaborate with both the culinary team and Sommelier on wine-pairing selections
- Responsible for the beverage financial performance including but not limited to: annual budgeting and operating plans, covers/revenue goals and achieving budgeted expense targets
- Maintain relations with vendors to ensure beverage program is set up for succes
- Maintain quality and consistency of the guest experience
- Minimum 2 years in a Beverage Director (or similar) role overseeing an upscale bar program including craft cocktails, beer, and wine
- Luxury hotel experience preferred, but not required
